What is it?

Creating a new user account requires a valid email address but sometimes, you might have to create accounts for people who don't have valid email addresses. This is where secondary email addresses come into play. With the secondary email address feature, you can redirect all messages and notifications to a person's email, even if they do not have a valid email address.

How does it work?

If a user does not have an email with a domain name that has been registered by the Tenant Administrator, the Business Administrator can go in and set up the user as an external user with a proxy or substitute email address that will redirect all messages and notifications to the user’s real email address.

For example, if user A’s email address is auser@hotmail.com and the domain name of hotmail.com has not been registered by a Tenant Administrator, the Business Administrator can go in and set up user A’s primary email address as auser@glenraven.com and then set the secondary email as auser@hotmail.com. The domain name of glenraven.com must already be registered by the Tenant Administrator for this to work and if it is, all notifications and messages will be sent to auser@hotmail.com.
