When you are assigned to an event, you will see a badge indicating what role you have been assigned. The event roles are Creator, Organizer, Viewer, attendee and contact. Event contacts do not have an assigned badge. 

If you are assigned to an event as an organizer, you will see the organizer badge but if you create an event and assign yourself as an organizer, you will not see the organizer badge. 

The reason for this is because the organizer basically has the same features and responsibilities as the creator, so it would be redundant to assign you both the creator and organizer badges since they are basically the same thing.
