With the new custom registrations feature, you can now create your own personalized registrations for your events. (Custom registrations are only available on Enterprise events.)

There are now three types of registrations that you can have.

Core Registration

This is the registration that has static questions. These questions are:

  • Are you attending?
  • When are you attending?
  • Are you driving or flying?
  • Do you need a hotel?
  • What dates do you need a hotel?

Core questions cannot be edited or rearranged. If your registration only has core questions, it is labeled as Core.

No Question Registration

This is a blank registration that does not have any questions yet.

Custom Registration

This is the registration that has fluid questions. If your registration has both core and custom questions, it will still be labeled as Custom. With custom registration, you can ask any question that you want as long as it is classified under one of the following types:

  • Multiple choice: with this question type, you are giving the attendee multiple options that they can choose from. There are certain restrictions with this question:
    • You can only give up to 10 options.
    • Each option must be unique and different. (No duplicate options)
    • Attendees can only select 1 option when registering.
  • Short text: with this question type, you are giving the attendee the option to type a short answer.
  • Long text: with this question type, you are giving the attendee the option to type a longer answer.
  • Yes/No: with this question type, you are asking a Yes or No question.
  • Date: with this question type, you are giving the attendee the option to select a date.
  • Statement: this is not a question and is more like instructions or notes that you want to pass along to the attendee.

Custom questions can be rearranged and you can also provide a description for each question.

You can create up to 50 custom questions (this includes follow up questions) but no more than that.

Follow up questions

These are questions that are designed to be contingent on answers to previous questions. This means that follow up questions can only be added to multiple choice questions and yes/no questions.

For example, if you ask the following multiple choice question:

What kind of food would you like at the event?

  • Pizza
  • Hot dogs
  • Burgers

You can then add follow up questions to each answer. This means that if an attendee selects 'Pizza', you can then ask them what kind of pizza they like. If an attendee selects 'Burgers', you can ask if they want fries with that. An attendee that selects pizza will only see the follow up questions for pizza and will not see the follow up questions for hot dogs and burgers.

Locked registrations

A registration becomes locked when 1 of the following happens:

  • it has no questions
  • it was added to an email invitation
  • it was added to a link invitation
  • it was assigned to an attendee by changing the attendee's registration type

No question

  • the registration can still be edited, duplicated and deleted
  • the registration cannot be assigned to attendees
  • the registration answers cannot be exported

Email invitation

  • the registration cannot be edited or deleted
  • the registration can be duplicated
  • the registration is permanently locked, even if all attendees assigned the registration are not attending or are removed from the event
  • the registration answers can be exported

Link invitation

  • the registration cannot be edited or deleted
  • the registration can be duplicated
  • the registration can only be unlocked if the link is disabled
  • the registration answers can be exported

Assigned to attendee

  • the registration cannot be edited or deleted
  • the registration can be duplicated
  • the registration can only be unlocked if it is no longer assigned to an attendee
  • the registration answers can be exported
